Two Southern Door wrestlers will go down the first in school history to qualify for the first girls' state high school championships in Madison next week along with several others from around the area.
Nora LeFevre (100) and Hailey Veeser (138) won their respective weight classes in the Wrightstown Sectional. LeFevre won two matches and Veeser won one to punch their tickets.
Three of Kewaunee's four wrestlers at the Bonduel Sectional will take their talents to Madison next week for the state wrestling tournament. Mitchell Thompson (195) won his weight class with a trio of pins. Matt Wery (145, 2nd) and Ezra Ducat (220, 3rd) also qualified for state.
A total of eight Luxemburg-Casco wrestlers will battle under the Kohl Center lights next weekend after their day at the Wrightstown Sectional. Blakelee Bastien (126) and Easton Worachek (132) won their respective weight classes, with the latter picking up two pins and a major decision along the way. Jake Jandrin (102, 2nd), Michael Bostwick (113, 2nd), Isaac Jerabek (120, 3rd), Caleb Delebreau (138, 3rd), Max Ronsman (145, 2nd), and Trace Schoenebeck (182, 2nd) also qualified for the state meet.
Two Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestlers will see their careers continue next weekend in Madison. Zak Wrobel (170) and Ben Roman (285) punched their tickets to state with identical 3-2 records. Both Wrobel and Roman were able to wrestle their way into the second-place match.
