Area wrestlers participating in this weekend's WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament got an early start to Madison on Wednesday with the first matches taking place on Thursday night.
Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, and Southern Door will all have wrestlers taking to the Kohl Center mats at approximately 7:15 p.m., with winners advancing to the morning session on Friday. Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol's Tiani Lemieux and Southern Door's Norah LeFevre and Hailey Veeser will all make history the moment the whistle blows as they are participating in the first-ever WIAA-sanctioned girls' wrestling state tournament and they are the first three girls' state qualifiers from Door County.
