A potential Horizon League title bout will lead off the proceedings at the Kress Center Thursday night as the Green Bay Phoenix host their first of two doubleheaders this week.
At 5:30, the Green Bay Phoenix women will host first-place Cleveland State in a matchup that will likely determine the #1 seed in the Horizon League Tournament. With a win over the Vikings on Thursday, Green Bay would clinch a share of the regular season Horizon League title, and would then clinch the league outright if they were to win again Saturday. The Phoenix beat the Vikings 82-65 earlier this season with four players in double figures that day, led by 16 points and four rebounds from Jasmine Kondrakiewicz.
The men will take the Carol Bush Court at 8 p.m. against the Vikings as well. The Phoenix have dropped five straight to the Vikings including an 82-77 loss on Jan. 7, 2023. Despite having a new coach, the Vikings still have a lot to play for as they enter the matchup sitting just a half of a game behind Youngstown State. The Vikings could grab their third straight regular-season league title with a pair of wins on their Wisconsin swing.
