Clipper boys sink season against Campbellsport on 103.3 The Clipper

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers could not defend the size of the Campbellsport Cougars, falling 76-48 Tuesday night on 103.3 The Clipper and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.

In the opening minutes, it was actually Sturgeon Bay delivering the first few punches with Calvin Richard leading the Clippers to a 6-2 lead. Campbellsport would begin to attack the inside of the paint, and would get Gannon Evers of Sturgeon Bay in serious foul trouble.

Sturgeon Bay would not be able to contain the Cougars with Evers on the bench with two fouls, as Gannon never saw the floor the rest of the first half. Mitchell McCarty would be the early scorer for Campbellsport, as he eclipsed 1000 points in his high school career with an and-one basket.

Before long the Cougars were suffocating the Clippers, leading 40-20 at the half lead by the duo of Mitchell McCarty and Ayden Fleischman.

Isaak Aune began connecting on shots in the second half, but the Clippers defense could not defend the outside shot. Kody Koltz came off of the bench, hitting 4 of 6 threes in the second half only, leading him to 12 points in the 76-48 win.

Calvin Richard was named Player of the Game in Sturgeon Bay’s losing efforts, scoring 13 points.

Sturgeon Bay finished their season 7-17 overall, and Campbellsport will pay a visit to Oostburg Friday night for the Regional Semifinals.
