Vikings blitz Thunderhawks for second straight regional title on 105.1 The GOAT

Ethan Danforth drove the offense early for the Thunderhawks as he frustrated the Vikings' defense and scored the game's first five points. The Vikings flipped the switch quicker than they did on Friday night against Florence, scoring 18 of the next 21 points to give themselves a lead they would never relinquish. Jake Schar did a little bit of everything as he scored 17 of his game-high 30 points in the opening frame with Braden Sitte also breaking double figures with 10 points. Danforth would score 12 points, but he was the only Thunderhawks player to score in the first half as the Vikings went into the locker room with 33-12 advantage.

The Vikings' onslaught would continue as Schar had another fast start to second half and Will Friedenfels started to get involved. A showtime, put-back dunk from Friedenfels ignited the Vikings' faithful halfway through the second half as the team continue to stretch its lead to nearly 40. The Thunderhawks started to half their own success at that time as Donovan Danforth complemented the efforts of Ethan Danforth. The reserves for both teams entered the game late as the final result became more certain.

In addition to Schar's 30 points, Sitte finished the game with 12 points and Friedenfels added nine points. Mateo Jauregui complemented his defense with six points as five other Vikings registered at least one point. For the Thunderhawks, Ethan Danforth finished the night with 18 points while Donovan Danforth chipped in nine points. Four others finished with at least a point.
