Marquette wins Big East Tournament

For the first time in program history, the Marquette Golden Eagles are Big East Regular Season and Tournament Champions after they beat Xavier in the championship game 65-51.

 

The Golden Eagles blitzed the Musketeers in the first half, outscoring them 39-24 in the first half. Tyler Kolek nearly had a double-double for the Golden Eagles with 20 points. David Joplin scored 12 points and Kameron Jones added 11 points in the victory. Adam Kunkel led the way for the Musketeers with 14 points in the loss.

 

The Golden Eagles will wait until 5 p.m. Sunday to learn their final placing in the NCAA Bracket.
