The Milwaukee Brewers played long ball and small ball to beat the Chicago Cubs in Mesa Sunday afternoon.
The Brewers opened up a 3-0 lead on the Cubs by taking Adrian Sampson twice in the second inning thanks to Luke Voit and Brice Turang and paired it with a base-running play after Christian Yelich was caught stealing.
After Ian Happ went yard to make it 3-2 in the sixth inning, the Brewers scored twice in the eighth inning thanks to a passed ball and a sacrifice fly. The Cubs would score once more in the ninth, but they would come up short against the Brewers.
The Crew are back in action on Monday at 3:05 p.m. when they play the Cincinnati Reds.
