Badgers set for NIT opener against Bradley

Although it may not be under the brightest of lights, the Wisconsin Badgers will play in postseason play starting Tuesday night as they take on Bradley in the first game of the NIT at 8:30 P.M.

After a disappointing one and done showing in the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday after losing to Ohio State 65-57. The Badgers were stunned in the first half, going down as much as 27 at one point in the game. Many bracketologists immediately dropped the Badgers out of the field of 68 after that loss, and it was confirmed Sunday during the selection show with Wisconsin not hearing their name announced.

The attention of Badgers fans was shifted to the NIT selection show at 9:00 P.M. where the Badgers were given a 2 seed and will take on the Bradley Braves. The Braves are 25-9 on the season, and were projected to be in the NCAA Tournament, but after falling to the Drake Bulldogs in their conference tournament, found themselves in the NIT. Bradley is led by Rienk Mast, a 6 foot 9 Forward from the Netherlands who is averaging 13.8 Points per game.

Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard told the media that the Badgers will take this tournament as another opportunity to play basketball, and look to win it all, negating the thought Wisconsin may play depth pieces to look towards their future.

Tip from the Kohl Center is set for 8:30 on ESPN.
