Second quarter woes send Phoenix women into offseason vs. Bowling Green

For the second time this month, the Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team went cold against a talented team from Ohio as they saw their season end in a 68-51 loss to Bowling Green in the second round of the WNIT.

The two teams traded shots early to enter the second quarter tied at 17. The Phoenix did not shoot great in the opening period and saw it plummet in the second quarter, scoring only five points in the second quarter and entered halftime down 30-22. The Falcons, led by 25 points and 10 rebounds by Allison Day, would extend their lead throughout the second half, leading by over 20 points in the final quarter. The Phoenix simply could not handle the size of the Falcons as they were outrebounded 41-30 and outscored in the paint 38-10.

According to the Green Bay sports information office, Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led Green Bay with 11 points, two steals, and three blocks. Jenna Guyer and Natalie McNeal were strong off the bench, with the latter adding six points and two steals while Guyer chipped in with seven points, three steals, and two blocks.

In other college basketball action, the Wisconsin men will play at Oregon in the third round of the NIT while Milwaukee lost to Charlotte 76-65.
