Softball, baseball seasons on standby

Don't expect to see any local teams in high school softball or baseball playing competitively anytime soon.

With much of the area still covered in snow from earlier in the month, several scrimmages and games have been either postponed or canceled. That includes a softball doubleheader between Southern Door and Wrightstown and a baseball scrimmage between Kewaunee and Oconto Falls.

Games on Tuesday have not been officially canceled, but at this point, they are unlikely to occur.

The weather will delay the coaching debuts of several coaches. John Berns (Southern Door), Neal Henrigillis (Sturgeon Bay), and Jim Smasal (Sevastopol) are set to manage their new teams whenever the snow melts, but they will have to settle for indoor practices until then.
