Track round-up: Storm boys takes fourth place at Herbert Invite

Luxemburg-Casco, Kewaunee, and Gibraltar all made the trip south on Thursday night to Manitowoc Lutheran High School for the 2023 edition of the Earl Herbert Invite.

The Kewaunee boys' track team scored the most points they have ever registered at the Earl Herbert Invite hosted by Manitowoc Lincoln High School on Thursday. Their 63 points were good enough to take fourth place overall. The team boasted several top-three performances to lead the way for the Storm, including event winners Jordan Lamack (high Jump) and Christopher Cullen (400m). Finishing just outside of the winner's circle was Maddix Mueller (Triple Jump) in second place. Mueller also captured a third-place finish in the high jump while the 3200m relay team featuring James Joski, Mitch Swagel, Paul Rosinsky, and Lamack and the 1600m relay team featuring Cullen, Swagel, Lamack, and Joski also took third.

The Luxemburg-Casco boys' track team made the trip down to Manitowoc Lincoln High School and posted several top-three performances at the Earl Hebert Invite Thursday. George Herlache was the top performer, pole vaulting his way to the top of the leaderboard with a height of over 12.5 feet. Trevor Beaupre leaped his way to a pair of third-place finishes in the long jump and the triple jump while the 4x200m relay also secured a third-place finish. Several other athletes earned personal records in the meet.

As the roster continues to build up after the winter sports season and vacations, so do the personal records for the Gibraltar boys' track team after competing at the Earl Herbert Invite at Manitowoc Lincoln High School Thursday afternoon. Much of the Vikings' success came from the 400m event, where all three entries finished in the top 10. Will Lecy (6th) and James Rericha (9th) finished on either side of 60 seconds and the 4x400m relay finished in eighth.

On Friday, it will be the girls' turn as Gibraltar and Kewaunee join Mishicot, Chilton, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Fond du Lac, Kimberly, Manitowoc Lutheran, Ozaukee, Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls, and Two Rivers.at Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
