Brewers defeat Mets in home opener

The newcomers of the Milwaukee Brewers continue to make an impact on the season as the Brewers defeated the New York Mets 10-0 Monday afternoon.

The Brewers and Mets were scoreless into the third inning when Jesse Winker continued his strong opening week with a single to left field, scoring rookie Brice Turang.

In the fourth, the new starting baseman for Milwaukee Brian Anderson hit the Brewers first homerun of the season to make the game 3-0 and open the floodgates. After three more runs were scored in the 5th, Brice Turang made another impact, hitting a grand slam for his first home run in his major league career, making the score 10-0.

Freddy Peralta pitched a gem in his season debut, going six innings on two hits and seven strikeouts. Bryse Wilson would come in and shut down the last three innings for Milwaukee, giving them their 3rd win in a row.

Tomorrow’s matchup with the Mets will see Wade Miley for the Brewers and Max Scherzer for the Mets. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m.
