The Milwaukee Brewers continue to roll early in the season, extending their winning streak to six games as they blank the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-0.
The game was quiet until the bottom of the third inning, as Rowdy Tellez connected on a high fastball to fly out and bring in the first run of the game for Milwaukee. A few batters later, rookie Garrett Mitchell singled on a line drive down the left field line, giving the Brewers a 2-0 lead.
Brandon Woodruff had his best stuff tonight, going 5.1 innings with four hits and four strikeouts. He was complemented by the bullpen, as five total pitchers went the last few innings, blanking the Cardinals.
Willy Adames put the final notches on the game, hitting a solo home run in the seventh inning, giving Milwaukee its 4-0 lead, which would eventually become final.
Tomorrow's matchup with the Cardinals will see Eric Lauer and Jordan Montgomery take the mound, with the first pitch set for 6:10 p.m.
