Gamblers clinch playoff spot

For the first time since 2018, the Green Bay Gamblers clinched a spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs after demolishing the Muskegon Lumberjacks 8-3 on Saturday.

Bodie Nobe registered a hat trick and Amine Hajibi scored his first two career goals to pace the Gamblers past their Michigan rivals. The Gamblers jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Raimonds Vitolins, Nicholas Vantassell, and Carter Rose as they chased off the Lumberjacks' starting goalie Raythan Robbins after just under 27 minutes of ice time. The Gamblers had to weather a storm of offense in the second period as the Lumberjacks outscored them 3-2 in the middle frame before they scored another three goals in the third.

After a forgettable March, the Gamblers are 2-1 in April and they will play their make-up game in Dubuque on Tuesday night beginning at 7:05 p.m.
