A three-run homer for Will Friedenfels was the lift the Gibraltar Vikings needed to get past the Crivitz Wolverines in an 8-5 win in Fish Creek Friday evening.
The turning point came in the Vikings' half of the fourth inning when Kita and Brey singled to start things before Friedenfels delivered the game's big blow, a three-run homer over the left-centerfield fence. The Vikings will play Sevastopol in a Packerland Conference doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. The Pioneers are coming off a 4-2 loss to Goodman-Pembine on Thursday.
In other Friday action, Kewaunee swept their two games on Friday in Wisconsin Dells, beating Northwestern 7-5 and shutting out Lake Mills 6-0. They return to action on Saturday morning with a match up against St. Mary's Springs Academy.
Other Saturday games include Southern Door playing at Algoma and Sturgeon Bay traveling to Oconto.
