Wolves softball splits matchups with Eagles

The Algoma Wolves responded well to a 19-4 blowout loss with a 9-8 victory against Southern Door Saturday.

 

Southern Door scored eight runs in the first inning and put the game well out of reach in the fifth inning with seven runs in the fifth in the six inning game. Sierra Slaby led the way with two RBI while Slaby and Ryley Zimmerman each had a pair of hits. For the Eagles, Chloe Lustilla and Callie Miller each had three RBI and five players had multi-hit games. 

 

In game two,  the Wolves scored in every inning by the sixth and stopped the Eagles short in the seventh inning to preserve the 9-8  victory. Nora Krause had three hits and drove in two runs while Tegan Luedke drove in a pair of runs for the Wolves. The Eagles saw Greta Gutschow and Tori Marchant each drive in two runs and Payton Gilbertson collect two hits in the loss.
