Big fifth inning sends Kewaunee baseball to third straight Dells win

An 11-run fifth inning rescued the Kewaunee Storm from the brink in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, eventually beating St. Mary's Springs 19-10.

Walks were the main culprit going against the Storm as their pitching staff allowed eight free passes while striking out just two. They gave up at least one run in each of the first four innings, including three in the third innings and four in the fourth.

The Storm did post another big inning in the third inning when they plated five with Cal Ihlenfeldt delivering the innings biggest blow in the two-run single. In the 11-run fifth inning, it was small ball that drove in most of the runs. Ihlenfeldt ended the day going 2-3 with five RBI and Owen Carlson went 2-5 with for RBI. Mitchell Thompson and Caleb Schaller each had two RBI.
