Free passes harm Clippers in doubleheader loss on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers dropped both games of the doubleheader with the Kewaunee Storm, losing the first game 18-0 and losing the second 10-0 in five innings.

In game one, it was Owen Carlson getting the scoring going for the Storm as he roped a three run home run deep into left field to give the Storm a 3-0 lead and open up the floodgates to a five run third inning. The Clippers would be held silent throughout the game, and Kewaunee would officially break things open in the 5th inning as the Storm scored four runs on four hits in the inning.

Kewaunee would put the final nail in the coffin for game one scoring 9 runs in the top of the seventh inning, with most coming off of Dominic Tristani. Carlson, Cal Ihlenfeldt, Mitchell Thompson, and Payton Kohnle did most of the damage in the first game that ended in the 18-0 result.

Game two started out in a similar fashion as the first game as the two teams were held scoreless through the first two innings. Kewaunee rattled off eight runs in the third inning on two hits, four hit by pitches, and five walks. Two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning sealed the game in just five innings for the 10-0 win.
