Door County Classic highlights track action for Monday -- POSTPONED

UPDATED: 1:15 p.m: The Door County Classic has been postponed to a later date due to weather this afternoon.

One of the biggest track meets of the year will take place Monday afternoon, as the Door County Classic will get underway for the 2023 spring season.

Gibraltar will be the host team for the meet, which is the same spot as last years meet. All of the Door County schools will be participating, which will include the host school Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Southern Door, and Sturgeon Bay.

Southern Door is the reigning champion of the Door County classic, with a first place finish in the boys field, and a second place finish in the girls field combining for a total of 191 points. The Clippers of Sturgeon Bay would be vice versa on those results, with the boys taking second and the girls first. Sturgeon Bay would lose to the Eagles by one point, falling 191-190. Gibraltar and Sevastopol rounded out the field with 101 and 37 points respectively.

The classic is scheduled to begin at 4:30 in Fish Creek.
