Spartans track capture top spots in home invite

Home cooking provided the right ingredients for both Luxemburg-Casco track teams to capture victories in the Spartan Invite Thursday afternoon in Luxemburg.

 

The Spartans girls won the meet by a comfortable 22-point margin over second-place Two Rivers with 182 points. Event winners included McKenna Rank (400m), Alexis Vogt (100m hurdles), Grace Seering (triple jump), and the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. The team posted 12 additional top-three performances. The boys tied for first place with Two Rivers with identical 161-point scores. Event winners included Spencer Thiry (800m), George Herlache (pole vault), and Trevor Beaupre (triple jump). The team also posted 12 other top-three performances.

 

Braden Sitte captured the lone event win for the Gibraltar track teams at the Spartan Invite hosted by Luxemburg-Casco Thursday afternoon. Sitte leapt to his title with high jump of 5'8. The Vikings boys' team posted four other finishes in the top-five. The girls had no event victories, but came close in several. McKailey Reisen took second in the high jump and saw the 4x800m relay also come home with a silver medal. Five other events saw Vikings in the top five.

 

The Southern Door track teams posted a number of top finishes at the Spartan Invite hosted by Luxemburg-Casco Thursday afternoon. On the boys' side, Zach Lynch led the way with a win in the 100m and a third-place finish in the 200m. Hunter Malvitz took first in the 100m hurdles and second place in the 300m hurdles while the 4x800m relay team also captured the top of the podium. Six others reached the top-three in their respective events. For the girls, Danica Neville won the pole vault while eight other top-three performances were recorded for the Eagles.

 

Sevastopol's Bea Dramm led the way for the Sevastopol track teams as they competed at Luxemburg-Casco's Spartan Invite Thursday afternoon. Dramm won the 1600m and took second in the 3200m to pace the Pioneers' girls team. Danica Werkheiser posted a pair of fourth-place finishes in the high jump with a season-best and as a member of the 4x100m relay. Atlee Manson (100m) and Aaron Tomaszewski (1600m) posted fifth-place finishes to lead the Pioneers boys' team.

In other track action on Friday, Sturgeon Bay travels to St. Norbert's College for a meet that begins at 2 p.m.
