A rare Wednesday game locally was the appetizer for a Thursday slate featuring one other local team.

It took three attempts, but the Luxemburg-Casco softball team finally had their day against Marinette, shutting them out 5-0. The Spartans will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Denmark. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.

In other Thursday softball action, Gibraltar will host Crivitz for a single game beginning at 4:30 p.m.
