After losing to the #8-seeded Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks have fired head coach Mike Budenholzer. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bucks fired Budenholzer after five seasons and leading the Bucks to the 2021 NBA championship.
Budenholzer’s job security came into question after the Bucks lost game five to the Heat 128-126 in overtime, losing the series four games to one as the #1 overall seed in the NBA Eastern Conference.
The overall regular season record of 271-120 during Budenholzer’s time with the Bucks is the best winning percentage of a coach in the 54-year history of the franchise.
