The Door County Baseball League season kicks off as the Sister Bay Bays pays a visit to Jacksonport to take on the West Jacksonport Ports on 105.1 The GOAT.
In a matchup of two playoff teams from last season, West Jacksonport and Sister Bay set up a thriller of a week one matchup in the DCBL. The Ports fell to the eventual league champion Kolberg Braves in the opening round of the postseason by a score of 4-3. West Jacksonport finished 4th in the standings of last season, and will look to continue their success into the 2023 slate.
Sister Bay also fell in the first round of the postseason to the Washington Island Islanders 1-0 in 12 innings. The Bays were the second seed in the postseason last year, and have been atop or near the top of the Door County Baseball League for the past few seasons.
Gary Barta and Jacob Nate will have the call from West Jacksonport on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The pregame is set to begin at 1:15 and first pitch of the new season at 1:30 between the Ports and the Bays.
