Baseball round-up: Gibraltar baseball pounds Peshtigo in doubleheader sweep, faces Sturgeon Bay Tuesday

The Gibraltar Vikings broke out of their nearly week-long skid with two wins against Peshtigo on Monday, winning the games 9-0 and 9-1.

As heard on 105.1 The GOAT, the highlight of the two-game set was Aaron Brey sending a pitch over the centerfield fence for a two-run homer.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Sturgeon Bay at 4:30 p.m.

On 104.1 WRLU, the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans fell to the first-place Denmark Vikings 6-1 in North Eastern Conference baseball Monday afternoon. The Spartans (6-9, 7-13 overall) will now play back-to-back games, away and home, with the Clintonville Truckers on Tuesdsay and Thursday this week.

Kewaunee put a stranglehold on the Packerland Conference as they swept a doubleheader from Southern Door. The Storm will get back to work Tuesday with a non-conference game at Bay Port.

The Algoma baseball team just needed five innings to get past Hilbert/Stockbridge, beating them 10-0 in five innings.
