Softball round-up: Algoma sweeps Kewaunee

The area's softball teams were greeted with mixed results on Monday ahead of the start of the playoffs.

While Gibraltar was swept by Peshtigo, the Algoma Wolves took two games from their southern rivals on Monday, nipping Kewaunee 5-4 before beating them 17-3 in game two. The Sevastopol Pioneers softball team came back to win game two 13-7 after dropping their first game against the Oconto Blue Devils Monday evening 8-5. The Sturgeon Bay Clippers lost NEW Lutheran in game one 10-6 but captured game two 22-12.

Tuesday's games will feature a single matchup between Algoma and Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door traveling to Denmark, and Luxemburg-Casco hosting New Holstein.
