In their last regular season home game, the Green Bay Blizzard were able to take down the Quad City Steamwheelers 45-38.
The Blizzard had command of the lead for most of the game, and even were ahead by 26 at one point as they led Quad City 42-16 after three quarters. Quarterback Max Meylor and running back Terrance Smith were the main scorers for the Blizzard early, who looked to be in a comfortable spot heading into the last quarter.
However, Quad City would steamroll their way back into the game with two unanswered touchdowns to cut the lead down to ten at 42-32. Green Bay would answer back with a field goal and put the game on ice as the Steamwheelers tagged on another touchdown but still fell by seven.
The two teams will match up again in Moline Illinois on Saturday, July 8th. Green Bay will have one game to play before then as they face off against the Sioux Falls Storm in Sioux Falls next Friday.
