Bays outpower Indians on chilly Sunday on 105.1 The GOAT

The offense of Sister Bay came out firing early in the first two innings as they pushed their way to another win as they defeated the Egg Harbor Indians 9-2 on Sunday afternoon. 

 

The Bays started their offense right away in the bottom of the first inning as Tom Sawyer and Griffin Cole hit back to back doubles to have a combined three RBIs in the inning. Egg Harbor would respond right back in the top of the second after Brady Kita doubled off the wall and was scored by Cole Krause on an infield single. 

 

Sister Bay would add on three more in the second to give themselves a 6-1 lead with Tom Sawyer having half of the RBIs for the Bays through the first two innings. 

 

The scoring would stop until Anthony Jennerjohn hit a solo home run into left field to give the Indians their second and final run of the day. 

 

Sam Forkert was automatic on the mound for Sister Bay, going seven strong innings giving up two runs and five hits while striking out four batters. 

 

Sister Bay piled on more insurance runs in the sixth and eighth innings, finishing the game at 9-2 and keeping the Bays at the top of the DCBL standings at 4-1 overall. 

 

Other Door County Baseball League Games: 

West Jacksonport 22 Baileys Harbor 12 - Ports had four home runs on the day and improved to 4-1 overall while Baileys Harbor fell to 1-4. 

 

Kolberg 5 Washington Island 0 

 

Maplewood 20 Institute 3: The Mets scored 15 runs in the fifth inning to give them the victory in eight innings. Adam Gutschow and Kordell Draves each drove in four runs while Nolan Wagner also collected two RBI. Ethan Kroll and Brent Haberli drove in two of the three runs for the Cubs while Elijah Reimer took the brunt of the damage against the Mets, giving up 13 runs in his two-thirds of an inning pitched.

 

The NEW Radio Sports Network and 105.1 The GOAT will feature two games this week when Institute plays the first night game of the season on Friday against Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor visits on Kolberg.
