The Green Bay Packers are hoping that they found a backup quarterback for Jordan Love, after reportedly signing Alex McGough Tuesday. McGough earned MVP honors in the USFL playing for the Birmingham Stallions and leading them to the league championship. The 6’3” McGough is 27 years old and spent time with Seattle, Jacksonville, and Houston in NFL from 2018-21 but has not played in a game. He played college ball at Florida International.
McGough will join rookie Sean Clifford and second-year player Danny Etling in the quarterback room backing up Love as training camp begins next Monday.
