He did not get the victory, but Freddy Peralta certainly did his part to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-0 win past the Cincinnati Reds to win the series and lengthen their lead in the National League Central.
Peralta went six innings of shutout baseball, striking out 13 and allowing just four hits. The problem was that the Reds' Ben Lively was matching his efforts until the seventh inning. Tyrone Taylor's two-run homer in the frame was all the Brewers would need, with Andruw Monasterio providing insurance for the team's seventh win in nine tries against the Reds this month.
The Brewers turn their focus east this weekend where they will open a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves on Friday before going to Washington D.C. to face the Nationals on Monday.
