Yesterday, marked the first game of Spring Training games for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers traveled to Phoenix, Arizona and beat the Oakland Athletics 11-3 with a little help from the long ball.
In his first game after his 65 game suspension, Ryan Braun crushed a 2-run shot in his first at bat of the Spring that scored Jean Segura. Juan Francisco, Brewers possible Opening Day starter at first base, hit a pair of home runs in his first two at-bats of the Spring. Then in the top of the ninth inning, rising star and prospect Mitch Haniger connected and rounded the bases on his only at-bat on the day.
Marco Estrada started and pitched two innings for the win despite giving up two runs.
Milwaukee is back in action this afternoon when they travel to play the San Francisco Giants in Scottsdale, Arizona. Yovani Gallardo gets the start of the Spring. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05pm.
