Montee Ball's having quite a week. After earning MVP honors in the Big Ten Conference title game last Saturday, the senior running back won the 2012 Doak Walker Award Thursday evening. The award is given annually to the top running back in the nation.
Ball joins Ron Dayne as the only UW players to win the award. Ball enters the Rose Bowl with 1,730 rushing yards, an average of 5.2 yards per carry and 21 touchdowns.
The other finalists were Oregon's Kenjon Barner (1,624 yards, 6.6-yard average, 21 TDs) and UCLA's Johnathan Franklin (1,700 yards, 6.3-yard average, 13 TDs).
