Vander Blue completed a remarkable Marquette comeback in the round of 64 during yesterday’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The three seed was pushed to the limit by Davidson as the first day's largest upset almost came true. The 3 vs. 14 matchup included a Davidson lead of nine points with less than seven minutes left, but then came the comeback.
Blue took a backcourt inbound pass and drove left with 5.5 seconds remaining. The runner off the left lane line banked home with one second remaining for an improbable 59-58 victory.
Marquette will match up with six seed Butler on Saturday with a chance to reach the Sweet 16 for the winner.
