Fans got a sneak peak at what the Wisconsin Badgers football team will look like in 2013 under new head coach Gary Andersen Saturday. Over 12,000 adoring Badgers fans filed into Camp Randall for the annual spring game.
Most dissected the play of the two potential starting quarterbacks. Curt Phillips and Joel Stave. Each threw the ball well but Stave’s numbers were slightly better. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown.
Phillips hit 8 of 13 attempts for 82 yards with a long gain of 31 yards. He directed field-goal drives of 50 and 57 yards. The two will see another competitor join the battle when junior-college transfer Tanner McEvoy joins the team after spring camp.
