Door County League Baseball Report

Kolberg is no longer undefeated in Door County League Baseball after an 11-10 extra innings loss to Sister Bay yesterday. Tom Sawyer’s triple and run scored on a wild pitch in the 10th inning was the difference. Sister Bay jumps to (4-2) and Kolberg drops back to (4-1). Jeff Sperber and Nate Alberts each homered for Kolberg in the loss.

Egg Harbor is now alone in first place with a (5-1) record after topping West Jacksonport 6-1. Riley Spetz and Joe Sawyer had multi-hit games to lead Egg Harbor to victory. The Ports fell to .500 at (3-3).

Washington Island doubled up Maplewood 14-7. The Islanders logged 13 runs on 11 hits in the third inning alone. Aaron Delorit hit a grand slam and finished with four hits and six RBI’s. Dave Heath and Troy Jorgenson added three hits apiece for the (4-2) Islanders.

Institute shut out Baileys Harbor 3-0. Matt Petersilka had four hits and stole three bases as the Cubs picked up their second victory of the season. The A’s are still winless in 2013.
