Just because summer is winding down doesn't mean road construction season in Door County is wrapping up.
The Door County Highway Department announced this week that its latest project on County DK will begin Aug. 17. The project, which stretches from Cemetery Road to Junction Road, will begin with cutting driveways and intersections and pulverizing the existing road surface.
Paving is expected to begin Aug. 24, followed by shouldering and striping. The road will remain open to traffic throughout the project, although paving operations may require temporary closures with flaggers directing traffic.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Sept. 10.
