Expect to rely on the Bayview Bridge or Michigan Street Bridge to get through Sturgeon Bay next week. Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials announced Tuesday that routine maintenance is scheduled for Sept. 14 and 15 on the downtown bridge, with work possibly extending into Sept. 16 if weather conditions are poor.
The bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate crews as they repair developing potholes and apply epoxy overlay patches. WisDOT Engineering Specialist Jim McDowell says this is routine maintenance for a span like the Maple/Oregon Street Bridge.
As for the other bridges, McDowell says the Bayview Bridge will likely undergo maintenance in November that will require it to close for a few days. The Michigan Street Bridge is expected to remain open until its spring maintenance.
