While the United States celebrates 250 years of independence, a steadfast church in north Baileys Harbor proudly celebrates 150 years of community and congregation. To mark the occasion, Christ Lutheran Church members, friends and neighbors are invited to a special service this Sunday, September 27. Church President Steve Strucely said the Church is excited to welcome a former Pastor as a part of the celebration.

Parishoners recently dedicated a memorial plaque outside the church buildings - the brief history of the church etched in bronze and mounted on a piece of Door County limestone.

The families of some CLC members have been attending for generations, proudly passing on their knowledge, and welcoming new members into their flock.

CLC members Joy Lang and Todd Ehlers shared their families’ attachment to the church, which has averaged 60 members for decades, according to Lang.
