Irene Foster, age 101 of Kewaunee passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born on February 27, 1918 in Illinois to the late August and Bertha Kluth.
She married the love of her life, Paul Foster on August 6, 1947. They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage before Paul passed away on October 11, 2013. Irene worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company at LaGrange, IL for forty-two years until retiring after which they moved to Kewaunee.
Survivors include two nephews: Ted and Edward Kluth; two nieces: Claudia Welty and Doyne LaVerdure; two great nieces: Nancy McStay and Jeanette Wiley. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Howard, Raymond, Carl and Edward Kluth; two sisters Margaret and Pauline.
Irene was extremely grateful for the love and support received from her nephew, Ted and niece Doyne, from her dear friends Joe and Helen LaCrosse and family and Kathie and Mike Hausknecht and family.
Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Carlton until the time of services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Willow Hills Memorial Park in Willow Springs, IL on Friday August 23.
