Anna Marie Gleasner

Anna Marie “Squeak” (Pennock) Gleasner, 92, of Sturgeon Bay, went to her new home in heaven on March 30, 2026.

She was born on September 17, 1933, to Wilmar Ray and Clara Caroline (Tansing) Pennock. On March 24, 1951, she was married to Emmett M. Gleasner at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church parsonage by Pastor Baganz.

Anna enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and watching the various animals eat her flowers. She also enjoyed helping Emmy in the woods, it was a neat woods. Anna Marie was a good and faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and known as the “treat lady” for the VBS kids. She also belonged to Ladies Aid, Needle Club, Joint Circles and Sunshine Circle, serving in numerous positions. For many years she helped Betty Lubeck in the church office under Pastor Baganz. She was on numerous committees, helping wherever needed. In 2022, she retired from the bulletin committee due to health reasons after many years of service. She truly enjoyed being in church and attending many Bible classes.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Gleasner and Jennelle (Jeff) Berg, all of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, John Stephenson of Tennessee, Sarah Stephenson of Madison, WI, Kesha (Ryan) Quade of St. Paul, MN, and Quinlin (Kylie Owens) Berg of Milwaukee; great grandchildren, Maggie Stephenson, Francesca and Aldo Quade; sisters-in-law, Shirley Pennock of Green Bay and Lucy Kluessendorf of Waukesha, brother-in-law Brent (Mary) Braun of Sturgeon Bay, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emmy, sister Betty (John) Moore, brother Wilmar Robert, in-laws, Ethel and Ray Brey, Ruby and Ivan Knutsen, Beverly and Joe Schauer and Bruce Braun; and great grandson Tate Quade.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 9, 2026, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with burial at Forestville Town Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Forbes Funeral Home is serving the family.
