Robert William Shine

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert William Shine, who departed this life peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on March 19, 1933, in Juddville, Robert was a dedicated husband for 70 years, son, father, grandfather, and friend, whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Robert graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1951 and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He embarked on a fulfilling career in the printing industry, devoting 25 years to Republic Printing before retiring in 1998. Robert's commitment to his work and community was unwavering, and he was a respected figure in both his profession and among friends.

An avid golfer, Robert enjoyed shooting his age or better on many occasions, a testament to his passion for the sport. He was also known for his love and compassion for all animals, a trait that endeared him to many. After his career, Robert and his family relocated from Palatine, Illinois to Baileys Harbor, where he became an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, having previously been involved with Christ Lutheran Church in Palatine.

He is survived by his loving son, William Shine; his daughter, Carrie Bueno; granddaughter, Aimee (Ray) Knipe; and all those who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

A funeral service to honor Robert's life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. Military honors will be performed after the service. He will be laid to rest in Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. Huehns Funeral Home of Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Shine family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Robert may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
