Y-Wednesday: Welcome, Byron!

You may notice a new face poolside at the Door County YMCA’s program centers in Sturgeon Bay and Fish Creek. In this week’s episode of the Y-Wednesday Podcast, we met new Door County YMCA Aquatics Executive Byron Rodriguez. Originally from the Green Bay area, Rodriguez got his start in aquatics as a lifeguard. After college, he took a position with the YMCA in Brown Deer before finding an opportunity closer to home in Door County. Rodriguez talked about the need for lifeguards, especially as traffic at the program centers increases with swim lessons, the Door County YMCA swim team and the Door County United high school swim team all sharing the space throughout the day.
