Kewaunee coach proud of entire team in great start

The Kewaunee Girls Basketball team is off to a tremendous start to the season and the head coach couldn’t be more proud. The Storm girls team is undefeated and the lowest margin of victory has been 7 points (at Luxemburg-Casco). Sara Dax is the only senior on the roster and she leads the team in points (19.6), rebounds (7.0), and assists (3.0). Head Coach Lynn Geier says Dax has been a great leader for the team so far this season. She’s very proud of the rest of the team as well. Mackenzie Tlachac (junior), Hailey Gaedtke (junior), Katie Metzler (junior), and Claire Kohnle (sophomore) have all been major contributors. Geier says even the players that don’t get in the game but play hard in practice make the team that much better.

Kewaunee (8-0 overall, 5-0 conference) hosts Oconto (4-5 overall, 2-4 conference) tonight with tip-off at 7:30 PM. After that, the team goes on winter break with the next game being January 4 at Peshtigo. The team will practice a few times during the break.
