A multiple-vehicle accident near County C and Idlewild Road forced the closure of surrounding roadways about five miles west of Sturgeon Bay for nearly an hour Monday afternoon. Emergency vehicles from Brussels-Union-Gardner and Southern Door fire departments responded shortly before 4 p.m. and detoured traffic from intersections from County PD to County MM, north of Highway 42-57. According to Door County Dispatch, the scene and roads were cleared for traffic around 4:30 p.m. after the vehicles involved in the accident needed to be towed.
