A two-vehicle accident caused the closure of Highway 42 for three hours in Door County on Monday afternoon. Shortly after 2:30 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of County P and Highway 42 just north of Sturgeon Bay. One vehicle struck a utility pole on the east side of Highway 42. Wisconsin Public Service was on the scene repairing the utility pole. Door County Sheriff’s Department personnel detoured traffic off the Highway 42/57 junction onto Highway 57 from the south and onto Whitefish Bay Road from the north on Highway 42.
