You will see traditions continue this weekend as Sevastopol, Sturgeon Bay, and Gibraltar say goodbye to their senior classes. Gibraltar and Sevastopol will have their ceremonies on Sunday at 2 p.m. Sturgeon Bay will continue their tradition of a Saturday commencement at 10 a.m. at the school before heading to the waterfront for a boat parade. The boat parade was born out of the pandemic in 2020 as a way to celebrate a senior class that had so much taken away from them. Principal Keith Nerby says it is just one of the many fun events they do for their seniors before they say goodbye.
Luxemburg-Casco and Kewaunee had their commencement exercises on May 22nd, while graduating seniors at Algoma and Southern Door received their diplomas on May 26th. Washington Island’s lone senior will celebrate their graduation at a private ceremony.
