A 68-year-old Sturgeon Bay man was cited for an improper stop at a stop sign Tuesday afternoon after his actions led to a three-vehicle accident. Shortly before 4 p.m., the man was driving westbound on Louisiana Street when he improperly stopped at the road’s intersection with 4^th Avenue. He failed to yield to the right of way and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old Luxemburg woman. The collision caused the Luxemburg woman’s vehicle to go into the other lane, striking another car driven by a 68-year-old Romeoville, Ill. woman in the process. The Luxemburg woman was the only driver of the three evaluated by emergency personnel, and none of them had to be transported to the hospital for treatment. The intersection was closed for approximately 30 minutes so cars could be towed and clean-up could take place.
