A 31-year-old man received five citations and a minor injury after driving off State Highway 42 near Europe Bay Road Monday afternoon. The accident occurred at 3 p.m. when the driver lost control of his vehicle while navigating a turn, though law enforcement was not notified of the incident until 5:20 p.m. According to the accident report, the driver overcorrected when he drove onto the shoulder, eventually striking the guy wire of a utility pole. The vehicle came to a rest after hitting several small trees. The man's suspected minor injuries did not require a trip to the hospital.
