Community group continues to make progress on inclusive playground

Kids of all abilities are getting closer to playing together at Bruemmer Park in Kewaunee. The Bruemmer Park Inclusive Playground (BPIP) group has been raising money for nearly five years to bring accessible playground equipment to the popular Kewaunee County park in Kewaunee so children of all abilities can play together. Construction costs have climbed to $500,000, with the investment split evenly between the playground equipment and the rubberized play surface.

Volunteer Rhonda Detempel said during Sunday's Pre-Kewaunee County Fair Parade Community Chat that the group is working hard to secure grants so construction can begin next spring in Kewaunee.

BPIP is in the middle of a matching donation campaign that will match every contribution dollar for dollar, up to $50,000. You can watch the full interview below.
