A 21-year-old Green Bay man was injured and cited following a two-vehicle crash last Friday that came too close for comfort for a Liberty Grove business.
The crash occurred before 9 a.m. Friday in front of Koepsel's Farm Market and Meadowlane Antiques on State Highway 57. Door County sheriff's deputies were not notified and did not arrive at the scene until shortly before 1:30 p.m.
According to the crash report, the Green Bay man was traveling north on Highway 57 when he became distracted while asking for directions. When he turned, he struck a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Jackson, Wisconsin, man who was also attempting to turn into the market's parking lot while towing a boat.
The Jackson man's vehicle eventually came to a stop after striking a decorative rock wall in front of the business, sending debris into several clay pots and antiques displayed outside.
The Green Bay man suffered a possible injury but did not require treatment at a hospital. He was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
His passenger, a 20-year-old Green Bay woman, and the two passengers in the Jackson man's vehicle — a 44-year-old Jackson woman and a 14-year-old girl — were not injured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene following the crash.
