If you pay your property taxes in installments, an important deadline is approaching.
The second installment of 2025 real estate property taxes is due on or before July 31. Whether you mail, drop off or pay your property tax installment online, Door County Treasurer Ryan Schley asks that you include your tax bill stub or tax parcel number with all payments. He also asks that you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt.
Missing the July 31 deadline could cost you even more money. Under Wisconsin law and Door County ordinance, unpaid property taxes become delinquent after the due date, and interest and penalties are applied retroactively to February. That means you will be charged 7% interest and an additional 3.5% penalty in August, with another 1.5% interest added each month until the taxes are paid in full.
You can find more information about paying your Door County property taxes below.
All postponed and delinquent real estate property tax payments should be made payable to the Door County Treasurer.
